People truly fascinate me. They are both simple and complicated. & both hideous and beauteous. Both humane and inhumane. Both amazing and sickening. It’s so interesting how we are all made of the same stuff, yet not a single person on the face of the earth will ever be like the other. It’s fascinating how there are those that care about one another, and those that kill one another. How there are those that steal, and those that report those stealing. How there are those who help you up and those who push you down. Man, people are just so interesting. I myself, am so interesting. Here I am this human bone covered by muscles and tendons and fat and skin and colour and there are these eyelashes meticulously arranged and these teeth. Subhan Allaah.

How I wish our planet’s movement was this apparent while staring at the night sky. It could probably make a lot more people realize just how tiny we are compared to this vast unexplored galaxy above our heads.

This is a stack of 70 pictures with a 5 second exposure each at ISO 3200 and f/2.2.

Abu Hurayrah رضي الله عنه narrated that the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said,

“Allaah the Most High Said: ‘O son of Adam, spend your time in My Worship (and) I will fill your chest with wealth (i.e. he will become needless of people etc.) and hold back (remove) poverty from you; and if you indulge in worldly affairs, (I will leave) poverty with you.’”

Shaykh Muhammad Amaan Al Jaami: Abu Dhar said:

Whoever does not know that his Imaan increases and decreases is not a person of understanding. Rather it is from understanding in the religion to notice if your Imaan is increasing or decreasing.

If you find yourself devoted to Allah, desiring that which is with Allah, and energetic in acts of worship, loving the righteous people and the gatherings of knowledge, this is an indication and a sign of your strong Imaan and your increase in Imaan.

And if you find yourself turning away and lazy, having no desire to recite the Book of Allah and remember Allah; and you find yourself always lagging behind in some acts worship and not desiring that which is with Allah, this is proof of your deficiency in Imaan. Therefore remedy and rectify yourself.

The Believer Should Not Give Up!

In advising us on how we should be in terms of looking for the ease after the hardship Sheikh as Sa’adi explained the following;

Oh mankind, fear Allah. Ponder upon the way that Allah has ordained for things to be in His creation. Verily He is praised because of that, and we are ever thankful to Him for it.

Know that what ever affects you from hardship, than it is because of that which your hands have put forth, and yet Allah over looks a lot of our bad deeds and shortcomings. You have to understand that these problems and issues that the people are going through, can only be removed by the one that is All Powerful over everything. The time will come that He replaces the hardship with its opposite (or ease). We know this because this is that which has been promised by The Truthful, The All Hearing and The All Seeing.

So take a good look at yourselves and admit your sins and shortcomings. You must return to Allah in sincere repentance from all of your sins.

Do as you have been commanded by Allah, which is be patient when standing in-front of hardships. He has commanded us to expect and wait for the reward when these trials come into our lives.

Spend all of your time being humble in-front of your Lord. You should be in all of your situations, asking Him to remove from you these trials and asking for Him to show you His Generosity. Turn your hearts towards the one who is the possessor of the mercy and the provisions. Wait for the good times and the removal of the hardships that will come only from The Merciful, The Creator. For verily from the best of the types of worship is waiting for the good times from The Merciful, The Provider.

There should be no way that you should be overtaken by those feelings of despair which try to cause you to give up. Nor should you allow yourself to begin to use that type of speech which shows your displeasure and anger with your situation. But rather the believer should never give up on asking His Lord. He should yearn and hope for the graces of Allah to be bestowed upon him. The believer understands that they are always in need of Allah when it comes to obtaining the good as well as being saved from hardship. We say all this to say that in terms of the believers, if they are affected by an abundance of good than they should be from the leaders of those that show their appreciation to Allah, and if they are affected by hardship they are from the patient.

The believer knows that he has no lord other than Allah, so therefore he supplicates to Him and makes Him his focus. Because of the fact that he has no other deity other then Allah, he turns to Him for all his wants and desires. This is because he understands that there is no where for him to turn to other than Allah. He is not sour or upset when some trial hits him or of those people that hate what Allah has ordained for him. Rather he simply goes with that which Allah has ordained whether it be, in his eyesight, good or bad. He is comfortable with hit and his heart remains firm with Emaan. Allah has guided this persons heart to understanding that the one that is in control of all the affairs is the one that says, “Be and it is.”

This is the successful worshiper. He has benefited from his Lord and been firm in establishing His worship in all of their affairs. This person has achieved two types of happiness. They are the fact that they are not worried and the fact that their situation and possessions are good and they have earned good deeds.

Allah Said;

مَا أَصَابَ مِن مُّصِيبَةٍ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِ اللَّـهِ ۗ وَمَن يُؤْمِن بِاللَّـهِ يَهْدِ قَلْبَهُ ۚ وَاللَّـهُ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَلِيمٌ

No calamity befalls, but with the Leave [i.e. decision and Qadar (Divine Preordainments)] of Allah, and whosoever believes in Allah, He guides his heart [to the true Faith with certainty, i.e. what has befallen him was already written for him by Allah from the Qadar (Divine Preordainments)], and Allah is the All-Knower of everything. [64:11]

We limit the deen to rules and obligations, the haraam and the halaal, the makrooh and the mustahabb. All you need to ask yourself is, do I want to obey Allaah and His commandments or do I want to disobey Him? If you want to obey Him, be of those who hear and obey [follow the Qur’aan + Sunnah]. If you want to disobey Him, be of those who hear and disobey [not follow the Qur’aan + Sunnah.
