Offering condolence to the family of the deceased……

al-fawaid:

Inna-lillahi ma akhatha walahu ma’a’ta. Wakkullu shaiy’in indahu bi ajalim-musamma faltasbir waltahtasib

Due is to Allah that which He has taken away and His is whatever He has Given. With Him, every-thing has an appointed term; so have patience and seek reward from Him

[Sahih al-Bukhari 2:80, Muslim 2:636]

أَعْظَمَ اللهُ أَجْرَكَ، وَأَحْسَنَ عَزَاءَكَ وَغَفَرَ لِمَيِّتِكَ.

Adham-Allahu ajraka, wa-ahsana azaa’aka wa ghafara li-mayyitika

May Allah Magnify your reward, and make perfect your bereavement, and forgive your departed

[Imam an-Nawawi’s ‘Kitabul Athkar’ pg.126]

Subhan’Allaah. Jazaakum’Allaah khair for this.

I ask Allāh, the Most Merciful, Lord of the Great Throne to take care of (protect) you in this world and the Hereafter, and to make you blessed wherever you be, and to make you amongst those who are grateful when provided, those who are patient when tested and those who repent when they fall into sin - for, these are the three signs of happiness.

- Muhammad ibn Abdul-Wahhab (rahimahullāh)

Dead Hearts & Empty Supplications

It is reported that Ibrâhîm b. Adham (d162H) – Allâh have mercy on him – once passed through the market of Basrah. People gathered around him and asked:

O Abû Ishâq, Allâh the Exalted says in his Book. ‘Call on me, I will answer your prayers’, but we have been calling on Him for a long time and He does not answer our prayers. [Ibrâhîm] replied, “O people of Basrah, your hearts have died in respect to ten things:

  • First, you know Allâh but you do not give Him His rights;
  • Second, you have read Allâh’s Book but you do not act by it;
  • Third, you claim to love Allâh’s Messenger – Allâh’s peace and blessings be upon him – yet you abandon his Sunnah;
  • Fourth, you claim to be enemies to Shaytân but you conform to [his ways];
  • Fifth, you say you love Paradise yet you do not work for it;
  • Sixth, you say you fear The Fire yet you put yourselves closer to it [by sinning];
  • Seventh, you say death is true but you do not prepare for it;
  • Eighth, you busy yourselves with the faults of others and disregard your own;
  • Ninth, you consume the favors of your Lord but are not grateful for them; and
  • Tenth, you bury your dead but take no lesson from them.”

Abû Nu’aym, Hilyah Al-Awliyâ’ 8: 15, 16.

Duaa before studying

“Allahumma infa’nii bimaa ‘allamtanii wa’allimnii maa yanfa’uunii.Allahumma inii as’aluka fahmal-nabiyyen wa hifzal mursaleen al-muqarrabeen. Allahumma ijal leesanee ‘aiman bi dhikrika wa qalbibi khashyatika. Innaka ‘ala ma-tasha’u qadeer wa anta hasbun-allahu wa na’mal wakeel.”

Oh Allah! Make useful for me what you have taught me and teach meknowledge that will be useful to me.Oh Allah! I ask you for the understanding of the prophets and the memoryof the messengers, and those nearest to you.Oh Allah! Make my tongue full of your remembrance and my heart withconsciousness of you.Oh Allah! You do whatever you wish, and you are my availer and protectorand best of aid.

The Prophet صلّى اللَّهُ عليه وسلّم he said as reported by the noble companion Abdullah ibn Mas’ood رضي اللّه عنه and reported by Imaam Ahmad in his Musnad. (Arabic) اللَّهُـمَّ إِنِّـي عَبْـدُكَ، إبْـنُ أَمَتِـكَ، the Prophet صلّى اللَّهُ عليه وسلّم said

No slave is afflicted with anxiety and grief and then says,

O Allaah I am your slave son of your male slave, son of your female slave, نَاصِـيَتي بِيـدِكَ my forehead is in your Hand, مَاضٍ فِيَّ حُكْمُـكَ،and Your judgment upon me is assured, عَـدْلٌ فِـيَّ قَضَـاءُكَ، and whatever You have decreed for me is just, أسْـأَلُكَ بِكُـلِّ اسْمٍ هُـوَ لَك I ask You by every name belonging to You سَـمَّيْتَ بِـهِ نَفْسَـكَwhich You have named Yourself,فِـي كِتَـابِكَ ، أَوْ أَنْزَلْتَهُ or You have revealed in Your Book, أَوْ عَلَّمْتَـهُ أَحَـدًا مِـنْ خَلْقِـكَ or You taught one of Your creation, أَوِ اسْـتَأْثَـرْتَ بِهِ فِـي عِلْـمِ الْغَيْـبِ عِنْـدَكَ or You have preserved knowledge of that Name with You in the Unseen, I ask You that You make the Qur’aan the spring of my heart,أَنْ تَجْعَـلَ القُـرْآنَ رَبِيَـعَ قَلْبِي ، وَنُورَ صَدْرِي ، and the light of my chest, وَجَـلاَءَ حُـزْنِي وَذَهَـابَ هَمِّـي ، a banisher for my grief and a reliever for my anxiety.”

The Prophet صلّى اللَّهُ عليه وسلّم said, “إِلاَّ أَذْهَبَ اللّهُ حُزْنَهُ وَهَمَّهُ وَأَبْدَلَ مَكَانَهُ فَرَحَا whoever says this Allaah سبحان وتعلى will replace his distress and grief with joy.

The Prophet صلّى اللَّهُ عليه وسلّم was asked “O Messenger of Allaah should we not learn this? He صلّى اللَّهُ عليه وسلّم said, “Certainly! It is proper and befitting for the one who hears of this supplication that they learn it.”

More.

Take a moment to make duaa for someone.

The Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم  said, “The supplication of a Muslim for his brother in his absence will certainly be answered. Everytime he makes a supplication for good for his brother, the angel appointed for this particular task says: `Ameen! May it be for you, too’.” [Muslim].

Subhan’Allaah!

Never get tired of asking Allah for whatever you need. Because humans get tired, they get bored, they get restless from listening to you; but not Allah. He is beyond that. Allah is beyond it.

Shaytan wants you to feel embarrassed to ask for the same thing again and again, but who else will help you? It’s only Allah, so keep asking. Never tire of asking from Allaah; because He will never tire of giving you.

merubinsu:

May Allaah make us those who seek Him whenever we are facing difficulty or in doubts, and those who seek His face whenever we face ease.

Ameen.
